This helmet doesn't seem to cover much or the head, but it will protect my daughter if she falls. The straps on it are very nice, and it even came with a extra cushioning. My daughter is 2 1/2 years old. I originally got this for her to wear when she rides her 4 wheeler, however I was being over cautious and she doesn't need it. Will keep it though for her bike as she gets older. Overall a good starter helmet for those little ones.
