very good

absolutly the best buy you can get for $100. I have friends with stabilizers that were $250+ and neither they nor I can tell a difference. Pretty good weight, I wouldn't say light weight, but its a good weight ratio. Such smooth transitions, I love the quick release, makes it so easy to take the camera on and off and not have to re-stabilize it every single time you take it on and off. Great purchase, only down side was the DVD it comes with as the only instructions on mine didn't work so I had to figure it all out on my own, which Im sure took me 3 hours longer than it should have. Other wise absolutely love it

Well Made

This unit, tho a little heavy, is well made with cast Aluminum head with easy adjustments. Excellent Gimble handle, [only improvement would be to install a 1/4x20" at base of handle].. The extension shaft is is smooth and snug, no slop.. Easy to balance Camera system{my Nikon D750 w/70-300, approx. 4 1/2lbs}[ includes a video instruction ], and extra shaft clamp.. This unit should take plenty of abuse..

Good for the Price

You'll have to play with this device to get it set right to balance your camera/lens combo. My light GH3 doesn't require much weight at the bottom. I would recommend extending the bottom pole all the way out with no weight and start from there. The goal is not to be heavy and short, but to be balanced. No it apparently isn't as nice as $600-$800 similar items, but the heavy construction and smoothness of the bearings is very functional. This is no substitute for a dolly or any kind of crane/jib, but if you are cramped for cash, time and space - this item is wonderful. I generally hate "hand held" shots, but this stabilizer makes them "acceptable" for short inserts and follows.
