An old-school hip-hop star in his native Puerto Rico way before reggaeton hit the mainstream, this super-sized MC (his resemblance to the bear on the box of Bimbo cookies he would eat for breakfast is where the name originates) stirs hip-hop beats with dancehall riddims, spiced with a stylish Spanish flow, for a tasty reggaeton stew. Less polished than current reggaeton superstars Tego Calderón and Daddy Yankee, Bimbo retains the original reggaeton grit and allegiance to street life. Tracks like the bumping "La Perrera" and the hip-swaying rhythm of "Guayao" keep the CD's sound totally authentic.
