These lamps are MINI, which means they stand a little under a foot tall. I needed two small lamps to sit next to my computer for lighting and they fit perfectly. The design is simple but clean and nice looking. They do take non-standard bulbs, but they're typically easy to find. We purchased our bulbs at Home Depot.
