Unparallelled Performance!

I bought my Ibex years ago and it's still in excellent condition. It amazes me how I have put far too much weight (90 lb. plus loads are common for me) in this thing and have ridden my bicycle from Queens (NYC) to Manhattan (NYC) and then on to Brooklyn and the trailer has never failed me. I purchased extra lock pins thinking they might break but I'm still using the originals. What I like best about the BOB is, since there is only the one wheel, once I'm travelling along I do not notice that I'm pulling a trailer. It tracks straight and does not wander like other trailers do. I've even ridden no-handed for stretches while removing a sweater, etc. I could never do that with my other trailers (which had 2 wheels). Once, I was doored by a woman exiting a cab and I ended up dropping the bike with about 50 lbs. of tools on the trailer. I thought surely that something would be broken but everything was fine. This is an extremely durable product and I have recommended it to all my cycling friends over the years. It's a bit pricey but you are definitely getting the best made and smoothest running trailer money can buy.

Worked Well

Having never used a trailer I didn't know what to expect. I did know that when my bike itself was packed with bikepacking stuff it didn't handle very well and I was constantly worried I was going to break the rack or the frame (which I did both). The trailer was much better going through rough stuff. The bike still didn't handle that great because when the load shifts over from side to side there is a point where it wants to keep going causing the bike to veer around. I did a 95 mile trip in the desert. In the soft sand sections the little rear tire is a lot of drag. It would be nice if BOB offered a version with a 3" tire for some more float. On hard ground the thing rolled along with no problem and the suspension absorbed well. I'm going to make an aluminum fold down kick stand for the trailer so I can leave the bike attached an not have everything tip over when stopped.
