Directions

Feeding Instructions

Feed free choice to non-breeding birds and provide fresh food daily. A 1 lb (450 g) bird will,typically eat between 1/3 to 1/2 cup (33-40 g) per day, while a 2 lb (900 g) bird may consume,between 2/3 to 1 cup (66-80 g) per day. Fresh fruits, vegetables and seeds may be provided, but,no more than 20% of the total diet. To switch birds to this diet, gradually replace your old diet,with this diet at the rate of 10% per day. Do not overfeed during this transition time and,monitor your bird to be sure it is eating the new diet.

You can get an older bird on a healthier diet!

I use a lot of Mazuri feeds for both farm and wildlife so when I saw they offered a large bird maintenance food, I had to let my guy try it. I have a rescued, 44 year old Blue and Gold Macaw, previously on very poor diet and he really likes it! I mix in other feeds with it as we are still transitioning but it is a keeper!

I love your product and have been singing your praises to every parrot owner I know. I tell the people on my FB groups about your pellets and believe there have been a few converts among them. My Avian Vet is sold on your product and is telling her clients about it! I would like to see the uniform pellets from years ago, as my parrots will pick out what they wand and dump the rest.
