My previous storage device (Non-WD) finally died on me so I had to get a replacement. After doing my research, I settled on this unit because it had the capacity I needed and the features I wanted. I haven't regretted the decision. This unit is faster than I thought it would be, powers on and off with my system as expected, and was easy to setup as a mirrored device for added protection. No regrets!

Bought the 8TB version about a month ago. It made a very slight knocking sound when I first fired it up, but that completely vanished after 15-20 minutes, and it's been quiet since. I ran a full diagnostic, with the included software, just to be sure. I understand that this isn't an SSD, so the speed would not be as fast as my m.2, but I'm still impressed at how quick this little HDD moves. I also love the included software, so you can run the occasional diagnostic scan, and keep your files password protected. I highly recommend this product. 👍
