This passed was my 5th year using the original white RX Clear Luster filter media balls that I first purchased, which according to the directions is the last. But after opening my pool the filter tank developed a leak, which I tried to repair, but didn't hold. I lived with it until I was able to get a new tank (only), after which I figured it would just be easier to refill filter with sand for remainder of the summer. Well a bag of sand is $20 and I need 2, also have no where to store the tank above freezing, so I don't reuse the sand from season to season. Got the latest catalog and they are on special for $20 a box, they'll pay for themselves the second year. Have had no issues with them, clogging filter pressure is good and I have never needed to back flush. Water crystal clear.
