This guidance can empower women - and insightful men - to recognize and overcome gender biases. The Thin Line Between Cupcake and Bitch reaches out to empower women and insightful men to recognize and overcome gender biases. It's for the recent graduate from college or the school of experience. It is a book for anyone who is working toward leadership or is already there. The book offers practical advice and steps to take action, drive the change that is desired and obtain results.Review"The Thin Line Between Cupcake and Bitch is a construct so many women, particularly women of color, have experienced. Joni's book provides a thoughtful approach to widening that line and to building a community of men and women who value inclusivity, diverse leadership, and strong women." --Nikki McGruder, Director, Inclusive Impact Institute"It's ridiculous how hard it is for women in leadership positions. They're expected to be tough but caring. Thoughtful, but action oriented. Nurturing den mothers who can turn on a dime to become hard charging executives. And that's just before lunch. Unsurprisingly, Joni Wickham nails it: For women in today's workplace there's a fine line between cupcake and bitch. You won't find a better guide for walking that thin line than Joni. She's funny, she's smart, and she s about to turn the old boys club on its head." --Mark Nevins, The Dover Group"Some writers write about what they know. Some writers write about what they have lived. Joni Wickham has written about what she knows as a result of the life she has lived. Readers get the details on how Joni's life experiences have taught her how to widen the line. Compelling. Real. Intelligent. Funny. All words that not only describe the book, but also the woman who wrote it." --Sly James, Mayor of Kansas City, Missouri 2011 - 2019About the AuthorAs the daughter of a teen mother and raised in the conservative rural south,Joni Wickham was the first in her family to receive an education and overcome the barriers of socioeconomic hardship and others' low expectations of her.
