Description: The Marula tree is a medium-sized dioecious tree, indigenous to the Miombo woodlands of Southern and West Africa. Considered one of Africa’s botanical treasures, the Marula tree has a long history in African culture. The raw materials for the oil are harvested and pressed by community collectives of mostly women. Semi-solid at ambient temperatures, immersion in a hot water bath will bring it to a liquid state.

Color: Pale yellow to yellow liquid.

Aromatic Description: Marula Oil has very little scent characteristic of most carrier oils.

Common Uses: Rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, Marula Carrier Oil has been found to significantly improve skin hydration, softness, and smoothness. It absorbs well into the skin and is excellent as a massage oil on its own or in a blend. Marula Oil has excellent oxidative stability, which makes it an ideal choice for a modern cosmetic formula. It can be used to manufacture leave-in hair treatments, scalp conditioners, hair lotions, skin moisturizing lotions, body butters, eyeshadows, lip treatments.
