I was skeptical about a robotic vacuum, but because most of my home is tilled, I thought I'd give it a chance. We LOVE our Roomba 880! She does an amazing job not only on the tile, but also on my wool area rugs, picking up crumbs and dirt before it can work it's way down into the pile. I've used my Dyson after the Roomba 880 has cleaned the rugs and it picks up very little. We named our Roomba 880 HAZEL (only older folks will understand) and we LOVE her!!

Mom's Little Helper!

Why did I wait so long to buy a Roomba? Honestly, the price was a the setback for not buying one in the past. But, recently, I saw my neighbor's Roomba working around her house and I thought that it was time. I'm glad I did! I found that this model worked well with low area rugs. On a few occasions, it did get caught in the fringe, but worked it's way off the fringe to keep vacuuming. It easily goes up and over the wood strip that divides my living room and kitchen. The vacuum also picks up Legos and cat food. I was shocked with how much dirt was picked up from only one hour of operation. Yuck! My Roomba is docked in the living room and seems a bit ADD when comes to vacuuming. It will work in the kitchen, go to living room, back to kitchen, then the hallway, back to kitchen, into the bathroom, etc. There isn't much rhyme or reason to it's cleaning pattern, but it doesn't really bother me. I don't have stairs or dark carpets so I can't comment on how it behaves in such conditions. The collection bin is easy to open. Verbal commands are easy to understand and offers many languages. Is this perfect? No! But neither am I and I noticed a big difference in how my room looked. This is a fantastic time-saving device and I'm glad I bought one.

Great for hardwood floors

My home is mostly hardwood floors, and this cleans them extremely well. The only issue is that I have some carpets with complex patterns on them, which seems to confuse the Roomba and make it think it's about to fall off the stairs
