A Timeless Classin in Children's Literature

Anne of Green Gables is a classic in children’s literature that has stood the test of time. Through her character, Anne of Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery presents a heartwarming story of an orphan’s coming of age in a strange new place as well as we are presented with a role model in the character Anne Shirley that might never go out of style. From incidences of insulting the neighbors, feuding with a certain boy, Gilbert Blythe, at school and causing a ruckus all through Avonlea, this artfully authored story will pull you into the period and let you re-live the events as if you were there. This book is one of my all time favorites; one which I have read many times over and one which my adult daughter has enjoyed over the years as well. I feel an attachment to Anne and have come to know the characters in the book as dear friends. The beloved Anne of Green Gables has touched many hearts, has lived on for over 100 years through history and even in today’s modern society remains a must read for those who have not and comes highly recommend by those who have as a staple in children’s literature which boasts a strong role model for girls and women of all ages.
