[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum cleaner is everything as advertised. I just wish we got this sooner than waiting for other one to die. I believe it picked up dirt/dust left from the previous tenenants and we lived at our current residence for 2 years :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently installed a longer pile carpet than we previously had. Our old vacuum would not work on it as the long fibers were grabbed by the beater brush of the vacuum and it could not be pushed across the floor. I purchased another Hoover pet vacuum that had a height adjustment of four positions that I thought would work. It didn't and I had the same problem. After searching Hoover's website I came upon this one with 7 height adjustments. It works fine (even thought I wish it would go a little higher) and I love the vacuum. It has plenty of power and I am amazed at how much hair (I have two cats and a long haired wife) and dust it picks up each time I use it. I like how easy the height is to adjust and I not only use it on our carpets but also on the wood and tile floors. I no longer have to haul out the cumbersome hose and wand for our built in built in vacuum system to do the hard surfaces. One machine does it all! It has a step on switch that will turns off the brush bar when you are using the hose to clean upholstery or stairs or using it on hard surfaces. The hose will reach the top of my 12 stairs while the vacuum remains at the bottom. I previously purchased another vacuum brand that had the pet turbo tool and as soon as I put the tool against upholstery it would stop spinning so I never used it. I thought this one would be the same but I was presently surprised at the power the handheld rotary brush has. It does a great job of cleaning pet hair off our upholstered chairs and couches. It took a few tries, but I figured out the correct angle to hold it at and it does a great job of cleaning the carpeted stairs with out bogging down. The 40 foot cord is great for my house and I only have to unplug it and move it once to do the whole house. I had never had a bagless vacuum and I was afraid that dust would fly everywhere when I emptied the container but it doesn't. The only feature I wish it had, that it doesn't, is a bright light.
