Still like them after 9 months!

Slightly darker than pictured but certainly not “black”. These have a matte, rounded finish and look great in our outdoor firepit. As others have said, it's tough to determined the correct quantity. We guesstimated 7 bags for our 12x48 inch firepit, which we only needed to be ~2 inches deep with rocks. We got lucky...7 bags was the perfect amount. We've had these rocks nearly 9 months now. As others have said, a few rocks have turned brown/black (giving a burnt look) but in our experience this has been caused by leaves, small sticks, and other natural materials that fall into the firepit and burn upon hitting the flames, leaving their mark on the rocks. Given it's an outdoor firepit, I'm not sure anything can be done about this and it doesn't really bother us. We are now considering adding these rocks (in a larger size) to an indoor gas fireplace.
