40" 101CM Tow Plug Lawn Aerator W/ Universal Hitch for Lawn & Garden 330 Lbs

This works great behind my John Deere S130 lawn tractor. I added about 120 lbs to the tray and I am getting 3" cores pulled out. If you turn too tightly while it is engaged, you will tear the turf a bit, but not a big deal. The provided assembly instructions are terrible, written maybe by a 6th grader, but if you have basic mechanical skills, you can figure it out. Once it is assembled, it is one sturdy, heavy duty unit. Heads up, assembly involves a lot of wrench turning. Even with this, this core aerator exceeded my expectations. The bigger the lawn, the better!

Took over 3 hours to assemble, and directions are not very clear - the wheels are shown pointing forward in one part of the instructions and pointing backwards in another. Either way, the tines do not disengage when the lever is moved, so it cannot be towed effectively. I would return it, but I don't feel like spending another 3 hours taking it apart. It does work OK, but again, it can't be towed across any surface you don't want aerated.
