The Winter Maxx SJ8 uses a specialized Nano-Fit tread compound that is molded into a directional tread pattern. This particular winter-focused compound is designed to provide a good combination of flexibility and rigidity to conform to the micro-texture of low-friction surfaces. While four wide circumferential grooves combined with wide lateral notches and open shoulder slots help evacuate water and slush away from the contact patch. The Maxx Sharp Edge with Miura-Ori sipes enhance the number of biting edges per tread block, helping prevent block distortion while also providing traction on wet, snow and icy surfaces.
