Great for milkshakes and smoothies
I really enjoy using the xl blast blender. I was looking forward to buy a ninja blender but this has nothing to ask for from the ninja it has a powerful motor, good enouhg to make my juices and milkshakes. My kids love milkshakes at the morning and i do some fruit juices for myself, i think it does a great job. I also love the color! red is my favorite and the size of this blender it is great to fill several glasses in one round. The jar comes with an insulated sleeve that helps to keep your drinks cold, this would come on handy on the summer! there are a whole series of buttons on the front of the blender that allow you to control the speed of the blade, the duration of the action, and provides much more control over the process according to the drink you want to make. Not only are the buttons provided so you can work your through the various sequences, but there are pre-programmed versions available to make various drinks. CON: the only downside i found in this blender is that the jar is made of plastic. I would hve preferred glass.but this obviously does not affect the performance of the blender. I would definitively reccomend it to anyone. It is a keeper for me
Large and Powerful
I am reviewing the Black and Decker XL Blast 72 oz digital blender. I know the title says XL but I didn't think that it would be as large as it is. It is labeled “ the drink machine” and seems to be suited for making margaritas, daiquiris, shakes and smoothies but can be used for normal daily cooking items that you want blended. The lid has an attached shot glass measuring cup in the top. It comes with a “chill sleeve" to pull over the top of the blender to keep the frozen drinks cold. The container holds 72 oz. , which is a lot. The blade is stainless steel but not removable. To clean the blade, add a small amount of warm water and a drop of liquid soap and turn it on. Everyone of the 4 speeds is very powerful. I made pancake batter in it and didn't need to run it for very long before it was done mixing. Having the nice pouring spout was nice for pouring the batter into the pan.
Great Blender/Drink Machine
Although described as an XL Blast Blender on the box it says "Drink Machine". That being said, I could not be happier with this Black & Decker XL Digital Blender. I have not mastered all the digital side but I have made margaritas and a strawberry smoothie to date. It blends well and is easy to operate. I also like the sleek modern style of this blender. It definitely distinguishes itself from the boxy blenders of old. The noise is nowhere near what I have heard in the past from blenders. There is a noise but not loud like before. I am looking forward to making/blending soups to heat up on the stove. I have several recipes that require a blender but have never owned one until now so I am excited to get those old recipes out. Another plus with this blender is the chill sleeve that came with it. The chill sleeve kept our margaritas cold for two and a half hours. I have no doubt that they would have stayed cold a lot longer had we not drank them. This would make a great and thoughtful gift for weddings, Christmas, birthdays, and housewarming parties. I was impressed to see a 72 ounce blending jar which is bigger than usual and can make a lot more quantity of the drinks we love. You will not be disappointed.
