All-Clad Gourmet Mechanical Stainless Steel Belgian Waffle Maker with Removable Plates, 4 slice

Got tired of the Cuisinart breaking down every few years, so my priorities were: 1) simple design to minimize breakable components (didn't want the fancy digital display with various settings for different styles and types - we cook one kind of waffle with one type of batter) 2) industrial quality 3) removable plates for easy cleaning This model meets those needs, and we were thrilled to find out that the waffles were actually more delicious than what we've been eating for years! Something about the shape and consistency of the heating makes the texture particularly good. The whole family is very happy with it so far!

The deep bottom plate, and the close squares are perfect for my liege style Belgian waffles (yeast based dough with pearl sugar). The tighter configuration of the squares makes for crisp ridges. The deep bottom plate make the putter edges cool more evenly. The removable plates make clean up super easy! I would knock off a star for the lack of other plates to interchange (paninis, regular waffle plate etc.) The plates feel a little loose and fragile attachment. It does store upright-but no place to store the grease/overflow container. The light and beep seem random not tied to expected temperatures or doneness. I gave it 5 because even with these misses-it functions perfectly for the single purpose.
