USB C and solar upgrade to 830

I'm a casual cyclist already in the Garmin ecosystem with a Varia radar looking to update my 830 with something that has USB C. This was a pretty incremental upgrade, but worth it for me for the ease of charging with the USB C and also the solar charging. There's not enough solar for it to charge while using it though, just makes less battery drain. And you can't solar charge it when it's not on.

Great upgrade for me

I've used a garmin 820 for several years now and have been happy with it. But decided it was time to upgrade so after reading many reviews I went with the 840 solar. My rides are never too long but I thought the solar part would be a good back up in case I was out longer than usual. No issues so far and I'm happy with the purchase! Many thanks Garmin

The Garmin 840 is a great value. Good size not too big and not too small. Good processor so it's not too laggy. I would recommend for the average cyclist to advanced whether road , gravel, or mountain biking.
