Defective or what?

I installed the new propeller on my 16 ft. fishing boat. Then I went fishing. I impacted a submerged obstacle at slow speed and one of the blades shattered. I have been boating long enough to know that, that impact should not have damaged the propeller. I have hit obstacles at 30 mph and not had crippling damage to any to my Mercury Marine Props. QuickSilver is supposed to be as good as Mercury Marine, but this experience suggests otherwise. I think that this propeller was probably defective.
