OK, I'm old, arthritic, %26 have a big house, so regular vacuuming is a problem. UNTIL NOW! Holy Smokes why didn't I buy this thing years ago? All we need do is pick up the dog toys, %26 let her rip. She does the whole first floor in less than an hour, %26 doesn't get hung up getting on big padded carpets from bare floors, or area rugs - or even the slight step up in front of the fireplace. She then goes back to the charger, %26 hooks herself back up to it. Once recharged, he carries her upstairs to let her loose on that floor - which is all carpeted. She does right up to the stairs, %26 doesn't go over. Only the bathrooms are closed, because we have shaggy bath mats, so we assume she'd get clogged up with that. She does do small rugs that aren't shaggy, though, no problem. Hubby loves watching her go, on the phone app, %26 there's no charge for the app - which he was afraid there would be. Spyware - maybe, but no cost, %26 thus far no hassles with the app. He just lets her map the area, %26 blocks off any areas he doesn't want cleaned (the computer cable mess around his desk), %26 it remembers to not do that area from then on. It leaves great looking floors, %26 even shows the tracks - like a real vacuum (which hubby loves). It goes under most furniture, %26 just bumps around until it finds it's way back out. Ours only got lost once, %26 that's because I moved it. When it thinks it's lost, it announces that it's gonna start over, %26 even tells us when it's full, so we can clean the dirt cup. That holds a fair amount, but not 2 floor's worth, so if you forget to clean it between floors, you're likely to hear about it. : ) It's pretty quiet. I think the comparison to a quiet microwave is fairly accurate. If you're right next to it, you'll hear it, but you can carry on a conversation without speaking louder. If it's in the other room, It's just light background noise. I'm kicking myself for hesitating this long. My son had an early one that just bounced around randomly, and that seemed stupid to me. This one will do one straight line for the whole floor, until it hits an obstacle, then pivots, and gets back to a logical path of straight lines. Once it's mapped, all the random bouncing around is over. Not always the way you might do it, but it gets the job done, and doesn't hit the same spot 30 times, and miss other spots altogether, like the random pattern ones do. I have arthritis, so this is a godsend to me. The only thing it doesn't do is the stairs. Too bad, but I think you'll need a real robot to get those done without a human involved. : )

Works exactly as described, way better than our old Shark and the iHome we returned for false advertisement... 4 levels of suction, connected to our Internet and Alexa perfectly. Mapping technology is superb. We created rooms from rhe blueprint it draws and it cleans every night while we sleep.
