The AmScope 40x-1000x Student Metal Compound Microscope with ABS Case, 10pc Slides & Book is a special package of a high power compound microscope with 10-piece slide kit (5 blank and 5 prepared) and the microscope book, The World of The Microscope, is designed for students to learn science in biology. The microscope offers five levels of magnifications, 40X, 100X, 250X, 400X and 1000X. It has full optical glass elements and all metal body construction with coarse & fine focusing. It comes with a molded ABS case. The book investigates the enormous variety of objects too small for the eye to see. Step-by-step diagrams show how to get the best from a microscope and how to make and keep slides. It covers different types of microscopes and there are plenty of exciting suggestions for projects which reveal the incredible detail of everyday objects. This is a great entry-level microscope package for home school or for students and hobbyists. Packed in a fine storage box, the 10-piece slide set includes five blank slides and five prepared slides: pine stem, sunflower stem, onion epidermis, cotton stem and house fly leg.

A little dissapointed
A little difficult to view items due to the eye piece, it is not easy to adjust focusing, the lens practically hits the eye lids, should have some type of attachment to the lens where you can rest the eye, but keeps eye lids away from the lens, the mirror under the stage does not provide proper lighting unless you are situated by a window on a sunny day. The best time to use it is during bright day time hours, not during evening or night hours, because it does not have an internal lighting source.
