The set came exceptionally well packaged and protected. Most of the time was spent unwrapping the gauze-like wrapping on each table bottom. The stainless finish is more chrome-like and polished, rather than like typical stainless kitchen appliances. The bases are strong and stiff enough for normal use. The quarter inch thick plate glass tops are well finished. The only assembly is placing 4 clear plastic suction cups in each base to cushion and keep the glass from moving. We are very satisfied.
