I bought this item for my son's bathroom as it has a bit of a masculine look. It fit perfectly and the brushed finish matches other hardware in the bathroom. The only thing that would make it better is if it had a little basket like the high-end ones do that catch any debris that falls through the holes in the register.

Red (sorta) but beautiful

I bought a 4-pk of 4"x10" floor registers because they were much cheaper to buy in multiples, and I need 5 of this size. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting on the extra (more expensive) one. These are quite red in direct sunlight, almost copper looking, but they're perfect in indirect/artificial light with our brown-stain hardwoods. I like the open/close mechanism a lot; 2 sheets of perforated plastic slide over each other to align or overlap the slits. This seems much more reliable than the metal flaps on other vents, which can catch on carpet or rough opening edges. The tab for the mechanism looks a little flimsy, but I probably only adjust vents, at most, twice a year (with the seasons), so I'll just be careful!
