14 yr old son now reading due to this book

I bought this book, because I discovered my son's teacher was using it to teach him reading. He is in a self-contained classroom, in 8th grade, and is 14. Even though this is kindergarten level, he is reading these stories. They are just short and easy enough to not seem overwhelming, and just long and tough enough to represent a true accomplishment once conquered. They also have nine great, consistent worksheets to help reinforce about three key rhyme patterns per story. There is a 1. spelling practice page, to trace and spell three, three letter rhyming words, 2. a fill in the blank page using the spelling words, 3. a "What is Missing?" page, where students fill in each missing letter in turn (first, middle, and last), for each of the three spelling words, 4. an "It rhymes with (the featured story rhyme" where students are given an onset with a picture and then complete the word by filling in the rhyme, 5. a matching page, where students match the word to the picture, and 6. a make a sentence page that features some element of sentence construction, 7. another fill in the blank page, and 8. a page that has students put an out of order sentence into order, and 9. a spelling test and multiple choice page. All pages are scored to be easily ripped out, if desired. I am so happy with this book. His teacher spends about one week or more per story. It is at his ability level, and he isn't rushed to the next story before he is ready to move on. At home, we now have him read to us each night. He may read an old story. Sometimes he reads his current school story. But he is proud, and so are we. I am seriously thinking of having it written into his IEP that his teacher next year in high school must use this series for his reading instruction. It's the first thing that has ever worked in all these years. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this wonderful book. The price is fair. I will be purchasing the entire series as he progresses in his reading skills.
