Grohe Rainshower 26569000 310 Mono Shower Head, 12" - 1 Spray, 1.75 gpm in Grohe Chrome

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shower head is the most luxurious feeling shower I have experienced. I have stayed in many high end hotels whose showers do not come close to this. This is a beautiful chrome 12" diameter and feels like a gentle waterfall. I installed it with a Grohe 26632000 shower arm. This extended 15' out from wall. Leaves adequate room to step out from under spray to lather up. Very easy to install. Thanks for the great product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unlike a conventional shower head that hits you with a steady stream of water, the water that comes out of the Rainshower 310 Mono by Grohe mimics rain to give you a relaxing shower. It is made in Germany. In the box was the shower head that had a very nice chrome finish on it, a rubber washer, a screen for trapping loose particles before they reach the shower head, a paper showing the order the parts go together and a sheet explaining the limited lifetime warranty. Installation took about 10 minutes and I'm not a plumber. Anyone that knows that righty tightly and lefty loosely is the way to deal with threaded pipe should be able to do it in the same amount of time also. I should add I put Teflon tape on the threads. Once installed and the water turned on I noticed right away the flow looked like small rain drops as it should and not a steady stream. However there were a couple holes water was not coming out of so I just rubbed my finger over them and immediately water came out. It may have happened because my water pressure is not real strong. The diameter of the head is a bit over 12 inches and the fitting to connect it to the water line is of common size. The head is adjustable for tilting to 15 degrees. The water coming out is meant to be soothing like rain falling out of the sky, not pulsating and pounding on you. This creates a big noticeable difference in splatter on the walls and the glass door which in turn means less scum to clean up. Depending on the size of your shower if you don't have a door on it this could also help with keeping the bathroom floor dry. Recently I changed the head from a single flow to one that had various settings. Quickly I found all the different settings were just a novelty and only used one that was much the same as the single flow I replaced. The Rainshower 310 has the benefit of the wide coverage I like and the comforting feel of rain drops. My wife was concerned that she would not like it because she does not wash her hair everyday and with the water coming straight down it would get her hair wet. She found that was not a problem. If you have never used this type of shower head where the water falls straight down it is a change from the norm but you will quickly adapt. Grohe has perfected the art of mimicking the feeling of rain hitting your body. When you add that to controlling the temperature of the water by your faucet you will find it worth investing in, rather than a regular shower head.
