Cecelia Hurwich's life story, 92 & Dancing, often reads more like a novel than a memoir -- a tale of adventure and adversity unfolding against the backdrop of the great events of the 20th century. Growing up in Harbin, China, and the San Francisco Bay Area, she worked her way through college during the Great Depression, served as a Lieutenant in the Navy during World War II, married a Naval Officer and raised three children. After a life-transforming event, she divorced, started her own business, expanded her personal horizons through analysis and the Human Potential Movement, traveled to India to work with master craftsmen, became an environmental activist, and took adventurous treks around the world, eventually reuniting with the man who was the love of her life. Yet as she grew older, Hurwich launched herself on the biggest adventure of all, earning a Ph.D. at age 70 and becoming an authority on vital aging. Facing the physical and emotional challenges of aging herself, she used the wisdom gained from her own research to find the inner strength and personal meaning to carry on with joy -- still dancing at the age of 92.
