Product details
The book is a compilation of case studies of activities conducted by the library as a best practice contributing to Crowd-based Open Learning Environment in a College Library setup. The case studies have been detailed on aspects of context, objective, practice, impact, findings, outcome, resources required and lessons learned. The activities include - Book talk, Earn while you learn scheme, Foreign language club, Information literacy programme, Learning Commons, Makerspace and Research Commons. This book will be useful for practicing librarians in academic libraries of Engineering, Science & Technology and School libraries too.In the present scenario the education system has been rapidly changing with the evolving global research the focus now has been shifted from teaching to learning and facilitating learning. In the present era due to the advancement of ICT and growing virtual resources, the question is how to put these already existing resources to use, (thus the Open Learning Environment(OLE) Model) rather than just creating new resources and how to get your own crowd involved in the process (thus crowdsourcing). Through this research, the researcher would like to propose a model which would make learning effective in reduced time at the Library setup in context to the existing Institutional ethnography and learning barriers of the crowd at Atmiya. In this book an effort has been made by the researcher to give a detail about the case studies - in this case, the best practices the Atmiya Library in creating a crowd-based open learning environment at Library. The case studies list the details of the context; objective; practice details; impact and resources required. In many of these case studies, details of the impact study in the form of survey or narratives and testimonials are also provided. In a few case studies attempt has been made to give an account of lessons learned in the process for effective implementation of the practice. The case studies provide a broad view of the methods for delivering Learning opportunities and an environment for the same; developing a research culture and supporting innovation through collaborative efforts of Librarian- faculty collaboration; Case study on ILP provides details about planning the ILP for Teaching; for learning and for research purpose; and Learning commons case study gives the details of the Modern library facilities needed and its impact on usage. There are total seven case studies I have described for the practicing librarian who can implement the same for setting up Collaborative open learning environment in the library.I have also described the impact, practices, glimpses, resource required to implement the case studies based on the crowd we have. The aim was to make reading good books a natural, cultural practice in the State to make Gujarat a 'Well read' society by creating the landscape and minds cape of the State thick with noble thoughts gleaned through reading."To create a win-win opportunity for the students and Library by helping students get hands-on work experience of applying their knowledge of the subject of Engineering in Library automation, development of new services like social med
