Her house served as a rallying place for children to gather and learn social skills and practical principles, for daily living.
Saturdays were a highlight, for school-age children who made weekly visits to Mrs. Butler's House and engaged in story time. At Mrs. Butler's House, children learned; how to read, to enjoy reading, valuable life lessons and participated in exercises that promoted good citizenship and character principles.
