Great Bookshelf

This bookshelf is amazing. Put it together with my 5-year-old & my 1-year-old, although he kept trying to eat the glue. Easy to put together. Very very sturdy! Extra pegs and screws (more than this type of shelf usually has) to give it more strength & stability. For the low price I paid I expected the usual cheap thin wood that would be ok for a kid's room but wouldn't last forever. But this is not like that. It's really good quality. I was pleasantly surprised.

Worth the effort

This was fairly easy to set up other than the umpteen screws that had to be put in by hand. It took ne about 2 1/2 hrs to get it together. If you are looking for a quick setup this is not it. You will need to use included glue to glue dowel rods into shelves and alot if things need screwed together. Putting on the second side is tricky. It's pretty wobbly until you put the back on but feels pretty sturdy after that. Be careful with the screws because they don't give you any spares. I think the crack down the middle cheapens the look, but it will eventually be covered by books. This is a great size and I love the bottom cubby for toys. Definitely worth the price I paid for it. It was on sale for $63. My son loves it.

A Pretty Great Bookcase

I purchased this bookcase to replace an old one that was about to fall over from the weight of my books. The box was left at my front door, by FedEx, and was pretty heavy to drag in by myself. Because of the weight, I was intimidated to put it together by myself but I did after the box sitting in my living room for a week. It took the better part of a whole Saturday afternoon to put it together and I ended up with a nice blister in the middle of my palm from all the screws (there are A LOT of screws). I went meticulously slow, following the directions to a T. It turned out great. It was taller than I thought but perfect for my needs and I love it. I'm not sure why it's called a kids bookcase because it look great in my living room.
