I use this every day for making art: I am a watercolor and colored pencil artist, and it is important to have clear light to see the colors I'm using and where I'm putting them. I originally purchased the light because I also cut vinyl decals for small businesses; weeding the tiny extraneous vinyl pieces was difficult without proper lighting. I was using a different OttLite - one with a head kind of like a spotlight - it was doing a great job (don't get me wrong, it's an OttLite!!), but this particular model has the long paddle type light that can illuminate a larger area on your workspace. I also like how the paddle can be twisted back and forth, along with moving the actual arm of the light closer to my work surface. If there were going to be a Glow LED 2.0 - something that would make me definitely buy a second one of these lamps - it would be giving the two folding joints of the lamp (that fold like elbows) the ability to move around with more flexibility (more like shoulders). I can twist the paddle back and forth if I want light in different areas, but I think giving the entire arm that same mobility would be powerful. I would also give that arm more length, with an extendable capability. I would gladly trade the novelty of the color changing base for these capabilities.
