Visual Poetry; Great Use of Sounds and Silence

It was hard for me to understand the plot of Andrei Tarkovsky's ‘Mirror', but I am always impressed by his use of sound when creating visual poetry. Along with the great photography are the hypnotic sounds of rushing wind, crackling fire, heavy footsteps, dripping water, clanking glass, book pages turning, and wood creaking. Tarkovsky's films movie at a very slow pace, and ‘Mirror' is no exception. His films are good, but they are an acquired taste.
