The 1 1/2" square aluminum tubing will not fit a covering schedule 40 2" PVC pipe. Getting a PVC pipe to fit this good quality thing without some alteration is impossible. There is a set of 8 Allen wrench style screws, washers, lock washers and two metal plates to secure one piece to another without directions or a throw away Allen wrench. But there is only one way to assemble it, if you have some basic tool skills (the metal plates go INSIDE the guide, you have to keep it loose to hold the plate for the second set of screws on the upright piece. It seems very solid. It is exactly 1 1/2" square each side and a cross sectional length at 2.2". Schedule 40 PVC pipe has a diameter of 2.047". No way you will get it to slide over the pipe. I found one company that says it has pipe that will fit, but not without some effort, and a bit costly.

Very sturdy but standard 2 inch PVC will not fit this item. Frustrating.
