My son is 6, and the little tikes b-ball hoop isn't cutting it anymore. So, I started looking at adjustable height hoops. I'm pretty handy and mechanical and can usually look at the photo OR watch a video and BAM...I can get it done. I would think that anyone REASONABLY intelligent could complete the setup of this product. It took me around 30-45min to complete the setup. Once it's up and the base filled with water...it's easy to move on its wheels. That being said, I don't think my 70yr old mom could do it, but a40yr old guy like me...easy to move. It's sturdy, built well and been out in the weather and after a few months is holding up just great.

My daughter recently started playing basketball. This is exciting what we needed for her to practice. It raises and lowers with ease, easy enough she can do it, and it assembled really easily. The base is sturdy, not study enough to have an nba dunk contest haha, but it's perfect for my family.
