You get what you pay for, the "wood" part feels like it's probably plyboard BUT with that being said, it's actually very nice. I got this because I don't have space for an actual full sized desk for my computer. It was extremely easy to put together and there are even a few extra screws in case any get lost, break, etc., and feels quite sturdy despite how "cheap" it is. It's been perfect so far, and houses my computer set up quite nicely. It's perfect as a temporary desk until I have more space and would be great for kids or teens who need one in their room for study, arts and crafts, gaming, or whatever else.

I thought it was made of MDF board, but it actually looks more like a plywood board. There is no melamine anywhere. I like it this way since there is no worry that melamime will start peeling off. I ordered a white one, and it is simply painted. I could see the wood texture. There's a cross beam to keep the legs from wobbling. The board also has a beam on the underside. Overall I can recommend it although I bought it at steep discount.
