The Standard Horizon HX851 is a 6 Watt floating handheld VHF radio that features LCD display with channel names and includes a 12-channel GPS receiver allowing the radio to transmit a DSC distress, position report or send calls with your coordinates. Its case gasket glows in the dark to assist retrieval. It is designed to be a work horse, ergonomically shaped with rubberized armor for a non-slip grip, die cast chassis and heavy duty belt clip.

The HX851 incorporates DSC Digital Selective Calling which includes distress, all ship urgency and safety, group, individual, position request and position report calls. Its display graphically shows volume and squelch adjustment to aid in operation and is designed to be heard in even the noisiest environments with 700mW of power supplied to the internal speaker. The high intensity strobe light emits the internationally recognized SOS signal that can be seen over 1 mile away at night.
