Barbie BMR1959 - Color Block Sweatshirt with Logo Tape & Striped Shorts

I hope it's okay if I post the same review for all the BMR1959 dolls, because I have the same thing to say about all of them: They are a bold, modern, fun new direction for Barbie. They are relevant to youth fashion, representative of society's diversity, and they do that while keeping a reasonable price point and presenting with well-made, detailed clothing and detailed hair and makeup. And let's not forget those cool boxes! The boxes are artful, unique, and manage to be edgy and understated at the same time. Very cool. I even like the weird press-on shoes worn by the blonde, fluffy haired doll. Even though I'm pretty sure your foot would get mangled in an escalator in real life if you wore those, on Barbie it's a gutsy pop culture fashion reference.

her face, eyebrows and makeup are very lifelike & incredibly well done, in fact I bought 2 of this doll & both have an excellent paint job (face up). an absolutely beautiful articulated doll that was also affordable. I've saved the boxes because the sketches on them are worthy of framing, absolutely artsy and well done. do not brush out the curls if she gets wet or you will have fuzz (just like a real person's hair). She is a tad taller than my other barbies. she has a thick waist, no hips & a small bust, so she has a different body than I was expecting, but I love her either way :)
