Very Handy Little Power Supply

My grandson and I fly most of the Horizon Hobby micro fleet, so we are charging 120 to 160 mAh batteries every few days. With this power supply we don't have to keep D size batteries in our Celectra 4 port charger. The power supply may not be saving us a ton of $$$ on batteries but it does rule out the chance that we will need to charge our micro batteries and not have a good set of D size batteries in the house. For us it's been a big convenience. And I'm sure that over the years it will save us many times our initial investment. Thanks HH, keep up the great work

Money saver

I have an MCX2 and Ember2, and this works with both of the single cell chargers that I have. Saves me lots of money and the environment from tossing away those AAs. And maybe it's my imagination, but the LIPOs seem to charge FASTER when the charger is plugged in. All the better since I have the patience of a tse-tse fly.

Crucial Accessory for the Celectra 4-Port Charger

I used the Celectra 4-port charger for some months to charge the 1S 120 and 150 mha lipo batteries used with various ParkZone (and other) ultra micro planes. Initially, without the AC to 6V DC accessory charger, I had to use 4 regular (alkaline) D-cell batteries as a power source. This worked pretty well -- BUT -- I found that the batteries do not have enough current capacity to simulaneously charge 4 discharged 1S lipos. That is, they have plenty enough capacity to charge many, many lipos, just NOT at the same time! The problem is that you can be fooled about what the charger is doing -- using (new) D-cell batteries, if you plug 4 discharged lipos into the charger, all the red lights go on, indicating they are charging, right? In fact, the lights staying on also signify the D-cell current output has dropped below what is required to charge the lipos, meaning while you think they are charging in fact nothing is going on! The accessory AC to 6V DC charger nicely gets around this problem by providing plenty of current to charge even 4 fully discharged lipos at the same time. As a further plus, I also got the impression, which I didn't actually measure, that charging was significantly faster using the AC charger, compared to D-cells. Bottom line -- this charger is a very nice addition to the Celectra 4-port charger if you fly a lot and have a bunch of discharged lipos on your hands -- keeps you flying more and recharging less!
