Bought this because apparently I wanted my house to feel like a hotline for 1973 emergencies. Honestly? It's adorable. Bright red. Retro. Dramatic. Comes with a little doohickey thing underneath so it sits pretty The actual phone works perfectly. Calls sound clear. Receiver has that deeply satisfying old-school phone feel that makes you want to slam it down after receiving bad news. Only complaint is the little light by the receiver doesn't light up when it rings, which feels rude aesthetically. I wanted the full “someone is calling from the past” experience. Still worth it though. Makes me feel like a divorced detective every time it rings.
