Massive shrinkage

The sheets felt nice when taken out of the package and fit my extra deep 18" mattress fine. However, after washing them on cold and drying on delicate, just to get the chemical smell out (did this before sleeping on them), they had already shrunken to where they didn't fully go over the 18" mattress, even though they started out large enough to cover. This amount of shrinkage when carefully washing and drying is not acceptable!
