I'll Take English Breakfast Black Tea Any Day
I heard a news story about how tea bags contain microplastic and that when used with hot water, those plastics are transferred to what you're drinking. I also researched the quality of tea and found several resources indicating the presence of heavy metals in tea. After looking at numerous studies and diving into the quality of the normal brands I used, I decided to start using loose tea and an infuser process vs. using the tea bags I have used for decades. The result is an organic tea that appears to have fewer heavy metals than competing brands. I purchased a tea pot that features an infuser and the result is some of the best tea I've ever had. This particular tea is smooth, has a great taste, and I feel safer using it for making both hot tea and iced tea. If only the tea would come in a non-plastic bag--it would be even better. Whenever I purchase it, I immediately transfer the loose tea to a glass container with a screw top. If you grew up drinking "orange pekoe" tea like I did, you'll really like this English breakfast black tea. By the way, black tea reportedly is an antioxidant--good stuff.
