I went all over town and searched high and low on the web for a modern remake of the 60s cat eye with rhinestones at the temples. The best I could find was a pair of BeBe frames, and the price on those locally was $275, and lowest on line was $169 without the lenses ! I'd already been to one Walmart in Saginaw TX and found a more casual second pair option, but I wear a lot of black and grays and white and needed something a little more special. On a whim, on my way to two other chain eyewear locations in far north Fort Worth, I pulled into the Walmart on N. Beach just to "look". And I spotted these right away. The picture, even expanded and on a wide screen monitor, just doesn't do these frames justice. Those little specs are rhinestones with studs, and the stones go around down the ear piece about an inch past the front of the frame, so there's a bit of bling from three angles. The shape is something between a rounded wayfair and oval lenses. Not a retro cat eye, so complimentary to a round, square, or oval face. They have the spring hinges. Everything in the description is accurate, but the picture just doesn't show how great these frames look in the store. I like to spend my real money on lenses. At this price point I was able to get the highest grade lenses, with hd and transitions and I got 20% off the second pair. The lady who helped me, Stephanie, said the average employee at this Walmart Optical has been working there 7-8 years, so these are not inexperienced staff just wanting to push you through to the register. I know I was demanding. And she gave me all the time I needed and wrote out every option and every frame model number I was interested in. It was a great experience and the guarantee covers any kind of damage. She said even if my dog chews up an ear piece, which has happened at least 4 times in the past, the lenses and frames are covered. She said that even if I don't like the lenses, they'll change them for me . But I'm sure everything will be fine. The N. Fort Worth location offers many newer styles not found in some other Walmart stores. It's a high volume location, so they sometimes get offered selections first. I suggest that anyone in the DFW area make a trip to this store after you've checked out your closest store, if you don't see this frame displayed and then, if you're not convinced, go check out the comparable BeBe "Iconic" frames at 3-5 times the price just so you'll feel even better about your decision.
