I did not know these even existed until I was in rehab for a broken leg. I would recommend heel cushions.

I tend to keep my right heel on the mattress that could cause ulcers to my heel. It keeps your foot warm so sometimes I find it on the floor in the morning but when I tighten the strap it doesn't come off. I would recommend these heel cushions.
