Whirlpool WED70HEBW: Duet ® 7.4 cu. ft. Front Load Electric Dryer with Advanced Moisture Sensing

Whirlpool WED70HEBW: Duet ® 7.4 cu. ft. Front Load Electric Dryer with Advanced Moisture Sensing

Key item features

Innovative technology helps this Whirlpool ® Duet ® 7.4 cu. ft. front load dryer read incoming and outgoing air temperatures while monitoring moisture levels inside the dryer. Advanced Moisture Sensing also helps the drying cycle end when everything is perfectly dry, saving time and energy. Paired with this model's quad baffles, this dryer will even preserve the perfect fit of your favorite clothes. Quad baffles also help larger items billow out for better drying, while smaller items keep tumbling without getting stuck riding the baffles. You can even help wrinkles from setting into your clean clothes with the Wrinkle Shield option. It intermittently tumbles clothes after the cycle's end for up to 140 minutes.

Almost perfect dryer

We bought this dryer along with the matching Duet washer. It's quiet, dries clothes quickly, and has great features like bulky (fluffs, not wad, large blankets), wrinkle shield (actually keeps my clothes from wrinkling if I get stuck in a time-sensitive task and can't immediately pull clothes out). It's been wonderful except for one thing: the beeping. Every single time you touch any button it BEEPS. Want to reduce the time? One beep for every 1-5 minutes it goes up or down. Switch from normal to another mode? BEEP. Change the dryness level? BEEP. Wrinkle shield on? BEEP. Off? BEEP. Accidentally touch it with your hip while hanging clothes? BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. When shopping for the dryer I read a review somewhere in which a guy ranted about this. I thought he was being ridiculous and that I would be smart to save a few hundred dollars with the cheaper model on which you can't turn off the sound. I bought the more expensive version of the washer due to another feature I wanted. Within two weeks I was SO GRATEFUL I could turn the sound off the washer. Over 3 years later, I would gladly pay $200 to stop the BEEPING!!! Do yourself a favor and get a whirlpool dryer, but make sure you can turn off the sound.

Powerful!

Dries large loads quickly which is great for our large family of 7. I just haven't been able to figure out how to silence the end of cycle sound/beep. I like to start loads when I go to bed, but now i don't because the alarm wakes me up. Overall - I LOVE it!!!!

Effective & efficient.

Installed this unit (alongside a matching washer) in our new home back in May 2014. It has been a real workhorse for us - it quickly and quietly dries everything we load into it. Very well built machine, good fit & finish. I place high value on simplicity and dependability, and this dryer does not disappoint.
