Fly Angler's Secret Weapon

I re-spool this stuff on a Pony spool so it fits nicely in my fly fishing vests. Only use it as tippet material on my leaders. Still using the traditional fly fishing standard leaders but Vanish has been a stellar addition to my arsenal. One of our club members (Thank you Mr. Palmer) introduced me to it many years ago and it's been my go to ever since.

Totally awesome fluorocarbon line, dude!

I do a lot of surf fishing off the San Diego beaches here in Socal and my line of choice is Berkley Vanish. I typically tie up snelled leaders of Vanish 4lb. to 8lb. test and attach it to a 10lb.Carolina rig main mono line setup. I'm impressed on how the Vanish is so lightweight/invisible yet strong enough to handle hookups of corbina/halibut/large surf perch or the occasional snags of kelp/eelgrass. Plus, the Vanish is an affordable option to some of the more expensive fluorocarbon lines out there.

Used every Day

Berkley Vanish in the 30# and 40# sizes are my go to leader material. I use LOTS of material and the 1/4 # spools make it economical to change my leaders daily. A leader of 6' to 10' on the end of my Spiderwire Stealth Braid gives me the edge I need to put big stripers in the boat for my customers. The affordability of the Vanish lets me change my leaders often increasing my strikes.
