Great product!
I installed three Coolaroo exterior shades on my second-floor windows here in Arizona, and the difference is immediate. They cut a ton of direct sun, and the bedrooms are noticeably cooler during peak heat—less strain on the AC and way more comfortable. Installation took some effort (stucco mounting isn't trivial), but totally doable DIY. I went with the crank version—smooth, controlled, and feels solid. Once up, they look clean and intentional, like a professional install. Yes, the rooms are darker—especially with darker fabric—but that's part of why they work so well. You trade a bit of brightness for a big gain in heat reduction and glare control. The biggest win: cost effectiveness. Doing this myself saved a significant amount compared to getting quotes from vendors, and the end result looks just as good. For the performance you get, these are an excellent value. Bottom line: if you live in a hot climate and want a real, noticeable improvement, these are absolutely worth it.
