Jumbo was the first international animal superstar who lived at London Zoo for over 15 years before being sold to P T Barrnum's Circus in 1882. This book, written by his keeper who accompanied him to America, was first published in 1885 before Jumbo was killed in a railway accident while touring Canada that same year.
