not to firm or soft just right it feels like im sleeping on a cloud right support for big fluffy people and side sleepers and i am proud to own it definitely recommend it. only complaint i have is the mattress slides a no slip cover or something is needed but it does have handles at top n bottom so i used cable zip ties to stop it from slipping. mine measured the correct 14" as well. not sure what happened to others but im happy
