Short, concise and meaningful

This is a short and small book (111 pages and measures about 8x5 inches) filled with personal anecdotes from the author in classroom settings with young children. I like that it's easy to read and pushes the importance of play through real teaching experience. This book has more of a practical value rather than theoretical. I haven't finished reading it but it seems like the whole book is like that- what children's fantasy play looks like in practice. I should mention that this is an old book (2005) but the need for play in kindergarten still applies today. This book is a “firsthand experience” backed “manifesto” so don't expect to find any research backed evidence for play in this book. Essentially this book is a reminder for teachers and parents of why play is critical for the development of young minds.
