never saw this roller until I was in Canadian Tire Bracebrisge and thought I would give it a try .Yes slightly more expensive BUT what a joy to work with. I will keep a supply on hand from now on. Never read the package before but paint ability for holding and NO splatter way above expectation. will always keep on hand

As a painting contractor with more than 45 years of hands-on experiences. I can say that the Purdy 'Marathon' 1/2' nap roller I received via promotional mailing, is more than adequate for any smooth or light textured latex/oil paint project the average home owner (or contractor for that mater) would ever need. This covers' core feels strong with a nylon/polyester, (this combination has proven to be more durable in paint brush bristle production) fabric face held a more than adequate amount of paint that released well during application. Most new covers, even the best, require extra time to be spent out of the bag to ensure satisfactory results. This cover required -very little- prep to assure a flawless finish. I used the cover to apply 2 coats of quality latex eggshell finish on a medium sized smooth-walled remodel job done to an 82 year old dinning room which proved trans-formative according to the owners. I am looking forward confidently to be using this same roller cover on as many as 10 similar paint job applications because of my quick-post-job-clean-up procedure. This cover cleans up so well, that most people would be hard-pressed to tell it had even been used.
